Each of the three sub-committees have subject matter experts and policy makers to develop policy briefs, called “White Papers”. White papers are based on biweekly discussions between the committee members, updated literatures, outcome from webinar discussions. The committee eventually summarize the findings to create White Papers in a policy recommendation format(s) that will be submitted to the policy makers of both India and Canada for implementation.
Soon after the Summit, in June/July 2021, all three White Papers and selected/invited presentations will be published in the International Journal of Noncommunicable Diseases (www.ijncd.org) as a special issue.
As part of the working groups several academics are working together from both India and Canada. Knowledge generated will be shared with aspiring young students for their career advancements, such as post-graduate research degrees and provide opportunity for start-up companies and to cultivate innovations.
